I have been going to Dr. Tjoa for years and she is the best dentist I have ever had. I have had a lot of experiences with different dentist over the years that have been less than adequate. Since my childhood dentist, I had never been able to find someone that I was not only comfortable with, but also completely trusted. I have found that with Dr. Tjoa. She makes you feel at ease. I see her every visit versus some dentist that you only see once a year, if that.

I was originally referred to Dr. Tjoa by a friend who was in dental sales. He worked with a large number of dentists and Dr. Tjoa was the one who stood out to him. At the time, I had gone to a dentist that was trying to do a serious "up-charge" on me. The previous dentist said I need a "deep clean", which was going to cost me in excess of $1,000. I went to Dr. Tjoa for a second opinion and have never looked back. She immediately told me that I was fine. She has never tried to perform unnecessary procedures.

I am always greeted warmly. From the start, the entire staff has known my name and remembered me. Dr. Tjoa is a thorough dentist and her chair-side manner is the best, with a great personality and a wonderful laugh. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Tjoa

I have been seeing Dr. Tjoa for about 5 years now and I think she is the best dentist I have ever encountered in my life. First of all, she cares about her patients. She remembers the subtle things from the last visit. She is cosmopolitan and knows how to talk about the finer things in life. Her office is warm, inviting, and prestigious. When I have had longer procedures, I was able to watch tv shows or movies but now I just enjoy talking with her and others about life, movies, and great food. I no longer work in the area she offices in but still drive over 20 miles to go see her. She's the bomb!

About Hygienist: Amber is one of the coolest people I know. She's really the one I look forward to seeing at my visits (sorry Dr. Tjoa). She can deliver the bad news like floss and brush more often in a way that melts you. She's a treat in the dental world!

Have multiple crowns (new and replacement) and routine cleaning and care.

Very pleasant atmosphere and (seems to me to be) up-to-date equipment and techniques, including mercury-free filling. Also were able to create some of my crowns using in-house equipment to form them on the spot and install them in the same visit, a big convenience.

Staff is friendly and competent.

Their specialty is cosmetic dentistry, so even if that is not your reason for visting, you can expect to get a a plug (low-pressure) for some extra service.

Recommended - expect to get West U service at West U prices.

I was referred to Dr. Tjoa by my brother, and boy, do I owe big bro a favor for this! Dr. Tjoa and her staff provide a whole new level of friendliness and customer service that are very important, particularly in this sensitive area of my health. Like most people, I typically don't enjoy it when I have to have dental work done, but I must say that Dr. Tjoa and her staff have made this experience as fun and enjoyable as it can possibly be.

Dr. Tjoa could not be more personable and fun to talk to. Right away she just puts you at ease. During your procedures, she is constantly checking on your comfort level. Dr. Tjoa has performed a couple of Cerec restorations for me, and with one of the restorations in particular, I had a bit of sensitivity after the procedure. Dr. Tjoa and her staff were very concerned about making certain that I was satisfied, and I came in a couple of times for adjustments until the sensitivity was no longer an issue. My teeth are so sensitive to begin with, and I so appreciate her concern about this.

Also, as others have mentioned, the office is gorgeous and comfortable as can be, and the staff is always extremely friendly and kind, always interested in what is going on in my life.

About Hygienist: Amber is incredible! She is very thorough, listens to your concerns, and is very interesting and fun to talk to. My teeth always feel and look better when she is finished :).

I actually found Dr. Tjoa's office via google by looking for a dentist in my zip code. Finding a dentist that way could be hit or miss, but right away, from my initial phone call to the office, I could sense this was a definite "hit".

The staffs' professionalism, knowledge, helpfulness, and warmth has been consistent through all the work I've done with them (two cleanings, four cavities filled, and several follow up meetings). During all these procedures, Dr. Tjoa and the staff were always making sure everything was okay.

Their office set up is elegantly cozy, and one very cool thing about getting my cavities filled was that they have special goggles that play a movie of your choice during the procedure! Loved that.

Another positive aspect of Dr. Tjoa and her team is their follow-through and concern. After my initial filling, my mouth was still numb when I left the office, so the ladies asked me to come in later so they could check up on me and make sure my bite was normal. They really worked with me to make sure I felt comfortable and that my teeth were pain-free post-procedure.

As a newbie Houstonian, I feel really lucky to have found Dr. Tjoa on my first try at a dentist!

About Hygienist: Dana, Amber, and Jeanine all worked with me at various times during my visits to the office. Each of them were professional and friendly. They were knowledgable and went above and beyond in making me feel comfortable, keeping me in the loop at each step, helping with insurance, and answering all my questions (there were many!).

I had several crowns and inlays done by Dr Tjoa in the past year. Her work is absolutely superb and the facility is first class.

Also a plus is that she has the machine that does crowns on the site, so no need to wait for two weeks for the crown to come back from the lab. It is all done in one visit!

I have been to several dentists since I moved to Houston 4 years ago, and Dr Tjoa is by far the best I have seen.

The atmosphere is fantastic. Very nice, clean, modern facility with polite and professional staff.

Atention to detail is truly amazing. For example numbing the site of the injection, putting vaseline on the lips before the procedure, or blankets if you are cold.

The only downside is she is in network for only a few insurance providers so you might end up paying more out of pockets. For me it is worth it!

Excellent staff ! very compassionate and everyone makes an effort to make the patient comfortable the minute you walk in. Beautiful office set up which certainly provides a very relaxing atmosphere. Everyone is very knowledgeable from Dr. Tjoa to all the staff members. They all provide very pertinent, helpful information to the patient which allows them to make good decisions regarding their dental health. Most of all they all do beautiful work, it is so natural looking that I couldn't tell if there was some cosmetic enhancement done. I would certainly have them take care of my loved ones.

I was referred to Dr. Tjoa by a trusted friend for the veneers that I have wanted for years. When I went in for my consultation I was immediately impressed by the presentation of the office. Everything about the place made me feel relaxed and at ease! The staff was absolutely wonderful and treated me like a lifelong friend from the minute I walked in the door. When I went in for the prep work I was very nervous but they did a wonderful job of getting me to relax. When I went back in to have the veneers put in place I was scared that the final product wouldn't meet my expectations. They assured me that everything would be fine. Once I got home and the anesthetic wore off I was able to smile, and all I can say is that I was completely shocked! When I went back to the office for the follow-up the next day everyone in the office was checking me out. Their smiles were bigger than mine because they knew that I was happy with the results. They were so happy for me! That sense of caring is something that I've never experienced with a dentist before.

I can't recommend Dr. Tjoa and her staff, especially Jeannine, strongly enough! I can only hope that they will have me back in the future for all of my dental needs!

Moved to Houston in 2005 knowing very few people. My new boss recommended Dr Tjoa and I'm glad he did. The staff is very purposeful about providing good service which does not just happen - it is well thought out. Dr Tjoa and staff are very thorough in their examinations and don't make recommendations just to sell something. Also their scheduling is such that the office never feels rushed or busy unlike some healthcare providers offices feel like. Great team. Don't hesitate to try them.

Dr. Tjoa and her whole staff are very professional and welcoming. The location is very convenient - alway easy parking by the front door - no parking garage! The receptionist always greets me by name and I get a personal phone call from my hygienist the day before to remind me of my appointment. The waiting room is like a spa with tons of great magazines that I never get a chance to read because I never have to wait! Dr. Tjoa and her staff keep good records and always follow up with issues we discussed during the last vist. I feel very comfortable during my dentist appointments and I recommend Dr. Tjoa to all my friends and family.

The office is relaxing and beautiful like a spa. The staff is personal and attentive. Dr Tjoa is wonderful. She does absolutely top quality work, cutting edge equipment and she is pretty and funny. This is the best dentist in Houston. My previous dentist was very good, but the office was not convienient for me and it wasn't as pleasant an experience.

Dr Tjoa is easily available and accessible. She has met me immediately in an emergency. She is quick and has a huge selection of videos and movies to distract from the tediousness.

Just like most people, going to the dentist is one of my least favorite activities. Dr. TJoa, Is one of a kind she's an expert in her field. From the first time I came in her office I was treated like I was her only patient. Dr. Toja is an amazing doctor. Not only does she have a great, positive attitude, but she knows her stuff as well. She is an honest, trustworthy doctor who will get the job done right the first time. She is here because she enjoys her job and cares about her patients. She is easy to get along with and will work around your schedule rather than hers. Her office is nice, clean, and comfortable. I feel good when I'm sitting in her chair, knowing that I am getting the best service in town. Her playful demeanor helps you get through those tough cleanings. I've had many terrible dentist but finally I found one that I love. I like that she's young and she keeps up with new advancements in dentistry. Dr. Tjoa and her staff are sensitive to keeping you comfortable the whole time. I've had my whole mouth worked on and even though the experience was overwhelming (due to my previous dentist's poor work) I'd still go back to her because I strongly believe Dr. Tjoa and her team know what they're doing and have my best interest in mind. I think they are all fabulous there and though I hope that our visits will be only for cleaning from now on, I look forward to seeing all of them. She is out of network but I'd much rather go to someone who knows what they're doing than to stay in network and endure more dental issues. She's resolved my fear of the dentist.

Pros: Super short wait, if you even need to wait. They normally bring you back as soon as you get there. They handle your insurance so you don't need to fret about that. She tries to minimalize as much pain as possible. They have a library of movies you can choose from while you get work done. It's clean - big plus - and it's a nice relaxing but sterile atmosphere. Everyone is super friendly. Summer hours are awesome.

When I began seeing Dr. Tjoa as a patient, I was relatively new to Houston. Because I had experienced incomplete treatment and care by two other dentists, I didn't really trust others' recommendations. I found an advertisement in a local circular and decided to go in for a consultation. I was convinced that I'd come to the right place; I'd found a dentist with whom I could grow and develop a great relationship. Her warm persona and unbelievably happy laugh, made my transition easy and worth the wait. The friendly and supportive staff at the office is always willing to accommodate my busy schedule and add greatly to the serene and calm environment. Her laser-focused attention to my case and treatment plan led to my Sjogren's Syndrome diagnosis long before I'd seen a rheumatologist. Since then, she's availed herself when I've had challenges stemming from the diagnosis, and has provided me with superlative care, direction and support in managing it. Her compassion and professionalism extend far beyond Houston: she led my mother to a phenomenal peer in another state, and the outcome of that treatment was more than my family and I could have ever imagined. I'm grateful that I've found a dentist for life!! Thank you, Dr. Tjoa.

I was pleasantly suprised how accomodating Dr. Tjoa's office was to me last week. I lost my nightguard & they got me in the same day I called. Dr. Tjoa was very gentle with the impression & I was "pampered" after with a refreshing warm scented towel & mouth wash. They even rushed my case so that I didn't have to go a long time without it! Dr Tjoa and her staff are amazing: professional, punctual, pay attention to the patient without fail, and each are personable and fun! Did I say fun? Yes, Dr Tjoa helps me to relax and feel good about being in her chair.

Her attention to detail is wonderful and she identified a problem with grinding my teeth; immediately, one of her staff crafted a night guard for me. Whenever I visit they continue to encourage and support wearing the appliance!

I have been so impressed with the care at Dr Tjoa's, my whole family soon visited. Both my children have recieved excellent care, no cavities to prove it, and when they needed orthodontic work Dr Tjoa gave us a few excellent choices to work with in getting a good fit. Very impressive!

The atmosphere in her office is so comfortable and relaxing that you forget you're there for a dental appointment. They really put you at ease. And it's nice that you can watch a movie while you're getting your dental work done. Went today to visit Dr. Tjoa after reading all the reviews on DR. Oogle and everyone was right, she is very friendly and professional. Makes you feel as a friend not a patient. The office is very comfortable and relaxing. All the staff is also very friendly and kind. I moved down to houston about a year ago and for me I have not meet people so full of life and energy ... I wish everyone was like that.

Tucked away in a business plaza is the best dentist office I have been to in my 25 years. When I first stepped into the lobby I felt comfortable and relaxed: the decor is homey and not cold or impersonal like other offices. The reception/check out staff is full of smiles and helpful information. I found them both knowledgeable about my future dental options which was great.

The rest of the office is very clean and well designed. The treatment area is small and intimate but also comfortable. I loved the personal screen at my chair where I could view the photos of my teeth that had been taken only moments before. This view allowed me to fully understand what Dr. Tjoa saw and recommended thus helping me make informed decisions about my future care.

Dr. Tjoa and the dental hygienist were both very nice and easy to talk to. They both shared personal experiences and made me feel more like a friend than a patient.

I also found Dr. Tjoa and the hygienist fully knowledgeable and capable of answering my numerous questions - everything from how often to floss to what toothbrush to buy to mouthwash and oral cancer screenings. I have already scheduled my next appointment.

Two thumbs up!

About Hygienist: I can't remember her name but she was very good. Despite my tartar buildup (missed a few past appoinments) she was able to clean and polish with very minimal discomfort. Most comfortable cleaning I have ever had.

I went to see Dr. Tjoa for a cleaning today and she is great. She is by far the best dentist I have seen. I've been going to Cosmetic and General Dentistry of West U for about 4 years now and they have been wonderful.

Dr. Tjoa has a very gently touch when it comes to my teeth, and she genuinely tries to make you as comfortable as possible... and that means a lot. Her work is fantastic and her Hygienist is great.

About Hygienist: She is great as well... In fact, she is the only hygienist that didn't absolutely kill my gums. Her and Dr. Tjoa are both thorough and gentle. I haven't had a cavity in years, so the proof is in the pudding, as they say... It helps if you don't eat too much pudding :-)

I enjoyed the whole experience. She was able to replace all my old fillings on one side with ceramic and porcelain in one visit. I watched a movie and enjoyed all of the office assistants. I was the only patient in the office so I had the complete attention of the staff.

I had to pay up front, and my insurance would not pay full price for the kind of fillings they used. But I will have the other side done and some crowns replaced in the future. No pressure from them to have more work than I was able to afford at that time.

It had been 5 years since seeing any dentist. Always had bad experiences because part of my mouth is hard to deaden. She made sure it was numb.

About Hygienist: Very nice and fun to visit with. Felt like I was chatting with friends. My teeth looked and felt great when she finished.

I was never a fan of going to the dentist, but for the past four years I actually enjoy going every six months for my cleaning. Dr. Tjoa also fixed my teeth and I have never been so eager to smile since then. My new smile is "priceless". I had a problem with my crown and needed a new dentist to fix it. My old dentist took three trips and never got it right. I just assumed my mouth was always going to hurt or I would eventually lose the tooth.

I went to Dr. Tjoa having low expectations of my problem getting fixed. Wow, was I wrong. She fixed my crown problem almost instantly. It is good to know there are still people that care about quality of the service they provide. So many people are just out to make a fast buck, but Dr. Tjoa and her staff really care about the patient.

She really runs a great practice. I cannot recommend her strongly enough.

Simply the best dental practice that we have ever used, not just for the excellent cosmetic work that Dr. Tjoa did for us, but we finally found a dentist that our kids really enjoyed going to ! The relaxed and friendly manner of all the staff made us feel very welcome, and the facilities are great. Dr. Tjoa is very patient describing all the procedures fully, so that we were left feeling very comfortable with her treatment plans.

Without doubt the most painless visit to the dentist I have ever had. Wonderful, friendly (and attractive!) staff, state-of-the-art technology (watching a movie through virtual reality goggles while having my cavities filled was a fun experience!), and immaculate facilities made this office seem more like a spa than a dentist's office.

Dr Tjoa is the best dentist I have ever visited. I had several problems for many years and she addressed them all with the best resources and technology. Most important in my opinion is her ability to explain all steps of treatment and all available options in terms of priorities and expected results. You can trust on her opionions, since she is able to discuss in full detail all steps of the treatment. The final impression is that she loves what she does so much that her best reward is to have a healthy and satisfied patient.

Also: the facilities are the the best, as in a 5-star hotel; the staff is super friendly and helpful.

I highly recommend her to everyone - especially for people with bad previous experiences in dental offices. It is more than worth the treatment cost.
